Alright, so I use DVD Shrink to Copy the DVD onto my computer. I create an ISO and burn with DVD Decrypter, but when it gets to the end of burning, this error comes up:
I/O Error!
Device: [1:0:0] MATSHITA DVD-RAM UJ841S 1.60 (D:) (ATA)
ScsiStatus: 0x02
Interpretation: Check Condition
CDB: 2A 00 00 23 05 40 00 00 20 00
Interpretation: Write (10) - Sectors: 2295104 - 2295135
Sense Area: F1 00 04 00 23 05 40 0A 00 F7 00 00 44 00 00 00 00 00
Interpretation: Internal Target Failure
I used to use DVD Decrypter to burn before, now I can't get it to work at all. I've also tried using Nero but that's not going for me either. I was going to try it out with the trial and if it worked good I'd buy it but it's a no go!
Ca work pas! Help please. =)

Either Decrypter or Nero should get the job done, both not working leads me to believe the problem lies elsewhere.

is this your first attempt and a dvd burn project...

Okay, I just reformatted my computer. I downloaded DVD Shrink and imgburn... Now, I can't do the same as before where I would create and ISO and burn with dvd decrypter...So I create an ISO and then...How do I burn with imgburn?

This is how you burn with ImgBurn( excerpt form Alkohol's guide):

Use the "Folder icon" to navigate and locate the ISO image created by DVD Shrink from the hard drive

Under "Destination," use the Arrow to select your DVD burner. Make sure a high quality blank is ready inside.

Select a burn speed not higher than X8.

ImgBurn can be set-up to automatically burn after DVD Shrink is done transcoding.

That's just it. I can't figure out how to make it burn automatically.
I created the ISO file, now it's burning but the speed is at Auto, is that bad? I wasn't sure if I had to actually pick a speed.
Also, what is considered a high quality disc? I only have Sony DVD+R discs.

Yes, you should select the burning speed not higher than X8.
If you look around on the site, Verbatim, Taiyo Yuden are considered top notch media. Sony are also good(those made in Japan will pprobably be Taiyo Yuden dye). Also any other media made in Japan-Maxell or Fuji.
if you use DVD+R, I would booktype them to DVD-Rom to increase compatibility with DVD players(if your burner is capable of booktyping).
Here is info about how to set-up DVD Shrink to auto burn with ImgBurn:

Hells yes! It worked with no error and plays in my DVD player. =) I guess I don't really need it to do it automatically, just a little more trouble to be around the computer to change the disc. I am using a laptop by the way, so there's only one tray for the CD/DVD Player and CD/DVD Burner...Don't know if that makes a difference?

I don't know what difference are you reffering to. the only difference that I can think is that if you have two different drives, one for reading and other for burning, your burner doesn't have to be abused as much.
Cheers!

Well that's good..
I think I might have taken out the disc a little too early, I thought it said it was done but after I took it out it gave me an error or something and said "OH NO!"...I'm going to set it so it ejects when it's done so I know for sure, but I should be good to go now.
As well, I just ripped Transformers but it didn't seem to shrink enough...It's at 4.79...Is there anyway I can shrink it a bit more so it fits on the disc?:S

Well, it could be because is a laptop drive, which are pretty feeble. The laser is exposed. Try cleaning the lens and see if it makes a difference. Or it could be that the ISO was not created properly. Are you trying to burn a HDD folder in write mode? That should be done in Buid mode.

What is an HDD folder?
I'm doing the same thing I've done every other time. Creating an ISO Image File with DVD Shrink, then opening it in imgburn in write mode, 8x speed. It was working fine up until that DVD. I'm not sure if it's just that one or if it's going to do the same for all now. I'm going to try again later.

HDD->your Hard Drive Disk
With a laptop CD/DVD drive, I would clean it often( get one of those lens cleaning CDs;run a test and clean it. Like I said, the lens are exposed, unlike the desktop drives.

when i burn a dvd i use DVDXcopy. It's a one time process and i don't have to use DVDShrink or DVDdripter, so why do people still want to do the long way?

Because the long way is free; or because it gives more control over the process; the long way is frequently updated to keep up with new encryptions. Or, some people like to jog, some like to walk to keep in shape. Is all about what works best for an idividual. Myself for example, I have not used for DVD backup any paid software ever, with the exception of Nero; as long as the freebies exist, my life is good!
You like DVDx Copy, call it a 1 Click. Some like DVDFAB PLatinum, another "1 Click". If everyone would use one single software, it would be bad, trust me!!

I have to disagree with you there Cyprus, when it comes to backing up DVD's, there are shortcuts that give just as good results and don't require 30 mins of fooling around to Rip the DVD, get the settings right, creating Images, etc...
I personally prefer Nero Recode 2 and AnyDVD, best combination in my opinion.
AnyDVD defeats virtually any protection out there and Nero Recode does the rest. Excellent shrinking algorithm too, most DVD9's I shrink to DVD5's look like the original, all you gotta do is get rid of the extras. It's pretty much a one-click copy app, nothing really to set/configure apart from choosing streams and disabling extra stuff; and it takes around 1hr and half to copy, pretty standard.
I in the past I remember I tried, DVDShrink, Clone DVD, DVDXCopy, and DVD Decrypter too; they all either gave me errors, wouldn't copy certain movies or made horrible back ups.
I've backed up more than 200 movies with Recode+AnyDVD and they look perfect, on my 80Cm TV you can't tell the difference anyway.

That 'Excellent shrinking algorithm' is DVDShrink's. When Mr. Shrink came back to work on Shrink it was to basically get all his old friends to help in improving Shrink. The result was the AEC Quality Enhancements which made Shrink a major player again. All this then went into Nero Recode, but only at the default 'Sharp' setting. This little bit of software will allow Recode users the full benefit of the AEC enhancements.

I don't disagree with you, is just that you missed one very important detail, an ingredient that needs to be present in my algorithm:as close to being free as possible!
Recode/CloneDVD+AnyDVD YES!Great combo! Kudos to all users!Except, I don't care to pay for AnyDVD at this point, which means I cannot "1 Click" it, I go the long(er) route, ripping to HDD and then shrinking...Most of the time is probably a matter of a couple of extra minutes, maybe even less than some people spend doing the "1 Click", as I only do "Movie Only".
If I backup a movie and maybe watch it a second time in a year or two, how often am I gonna watch the extras?!! So, it boils down to prefferences. Mine is Free Sofware.

Do you mean the disc you are burning to or the one you are making a backup of?

Well now the drive just isn't reading anything again haha. Definately going to need a lens cleaner. I'll get on that right away.
