how could you tell what kind of disc you're burning. DVD9 or DVD5
Do you mean the disc you are burning to or the one you are making a backup of?
Well, if you're burning a blockbuster DVD, how do you know what kind of dvd is it? DVD9 or DVD5. In addition, when I go out and buy blank dvds, i only saw the 4.7 Gig and never seen DVD9 (7 gig right?)

Most of the new movies are too big to fit on a DVD5 , with all the extras and junk. You might be able to find an older movie that is DVD5.
When you go and buy DVDs(Best Buy for example), you will see DVD+/- R, and DVD+/-R DL(DVD9).Or, thet could be re-writable, DVD+RW (DL)

What an appropriate username you have there; i'd politely suggest you stop posting and instead read the Forum Rules. No Rent & Burn discussions here at Afterdawn.

Put in your drive, go to My Computer and look to the right of your drive under Total Size.

I have been having similar problems when backing up DVD's with ImgBurn and DVD Shrink. After I compress the files, I use ImgBurn to burn the files. However, when I stick the DVD into a player or use my laptop to play the DVD's, I can only access the first 30 mins of video... all the rest of the video has dissapeared though the menu is in full working order. HELP!!!
