son had his PSP for good old Xmas,,,,, and the button on the left, the one you twiddle about ( i dont know what its called im his mother!)well it wont go up, left to right is ok but when hes playing football on it, the player keeps dribbling the ball off the pitch!!
is it a common breakage, shall it take it straight back?

its the one that you wobble around,to get players to run up the pitch! not a button you press,, not the x or B or the other buttons,,,,, but the one bottom left with a grip surface,,, i dont know waht they are called im just a mum!
ive been to the shop we got it from, and having a replacement,
but if its a common fault then???

Did you get the psp new, or used? The analog stick doesnt usually go out unless its used frequently and has had excessive pressure put on it. If you got it from a shop, I imagine they offer some kind of warranty and would gladly make it right for you. Otherwise its an easy fix-The part is about $5.00(US) on eBay and its just a matter of removing the faceplate to switch out the part. The analog stick is actually attached to the faceplate, so no need to perform major surgery on the unit.

No problem-I have never played that game, so I wouldn't know either way.But it sounds like the analog stick is knackered in any event-Thankfully you are able to get a replacement.

I have Smackdown vs Raw and yes you wiggle the anolog stick to use submission, my anolog stick was moving on its own for a while but I took it off and put it back on and now it seems to work fine.
