xbox360 newbie need to know a few things to burn

do I have to mod my xbox360?
if I do not besides clonecd what other software do I need.
where do I find the additional software
I have found some toturals here but no mention of a mod chip and where to find any additional software

you only need chip if you have a hitachi 79fl....you'll need a passkey 79 to get the drive key, i believe. otherwise, you can mod the 360 with a firmware flash.

the first thing you need to do is figure out what drive and ROM Version you have. after that, and assuming it's not the hitachi 79fl, do a search for textbook's tutorial. it gives you a step-by-step how to flash.
