I have an xbox 360 (halo edition) and it has HDMI output if I bought the HD DVD player would it work with HDMI ?

hd-dvd player will plug into the USB port on the 360. you can then use the HDMI out to your TV or receiver plus an optical out for surround sound. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the 360 HDMI does video only (?)

short answer is YES, you can use the HDMI to get full 1080p output from your hd-dvd add-on.
