Recently my "piracy rig" with my Samsung SH-D162C and LG drive for Wii games decided to die on me. As it is taking me a while to work out what is wrong with this machine I decided to buy an 5.25" external enclosure and put the SH-D162C in there.
I bought an enclosure, installed the drive and Windows detects it and disks show up when I insert them. However, when I try to rip a 360 game using X-Box Backup Creator it detects the drive, the disk and lets me start the rip but then freezes at about 33%. If you click anywhere you are told that the program is not responding and you are forced to reset the machine to close XBC. I have tried XBC v2.6 and 2.7 and get the same result.
I then tried using Schtrom360Xtract V3.4 and it get to about 41% of the read and just sits there. The time still counts up but the read never progresses.
I then tried ripping a copy of a copied 360 game and a normal DVD using ImgBurn and both rip perfectly with the 360 image passing all Mulleter checks, so it isn't a problem with the enclosure.
I then plugged the drive into my brother computer to see if it was a problem with my machine. When connected to my brother's machine XBC also stops responding at around the same place but I can successfully rip 360 games using Schtrom360Xtract V3.4.
So now I am very confused about what is causing my problem. If any one has any advice on what to try and how to resolve my problem it would be greatly appreciated.
Everything in my house just seems to be breaking at the same time.
Have you been trying with the same game all along? For some reason, some games on my kreon drive would sit at one place for very long, doesnt with 99% of the games, and I've installed my kreon drive in an enclosure too, and it works great, what enclosure did you buy?

I assure you it is an affectionate term that I use for my seperate machine that I use for legally backing up materials that I own the full and valid license for.

I have tried ripping a number of original games including original games that I have ripped copies of so I know that they have worked in the past. All of them have ended with the same result, that being not working with either XBC or Schtrom360Xtract V3.4 on my machine and working with only Schtrom360Xtract V3.4 on my brother's machine.
As you say I can't work out what the problem is. I have done a search around on the net and can't find anything or anyone with a similar problem.
