does vcon games work on a chipped wii?

Just wondering if its possible to get backups of the virtual console games to work on a chipped wii or do you have to download them from Nintendo?

Also another fast question:
Is it possible to update the wii firmware online if I got a chipped wii?

u can create emulator discs for the wii whether donkey kong available i not know
