No...
Check and see if it works. Take the battery out, hold the L button, and put the battery back in. Don't release the L button until text appears. If nothing appears, not even a standard boot, then take the battery out and try again, this normally happens and is fixed by just trying again.

it brings me to main menu and tells me cant read memory stick and when i took the battery out my psp shut off, i am in cutom firmware 3.40 that you gave me

Backup your savedata and anything you don't want to lose. Format your memory stick, and replace the firmware eboot's you need, and run the U.P.M.S. installer again. Sorry for misleading you.

ok so now i am done with UPMS it installed what it needed, the instructions are not to clear on what to do after that

Do i turn off anf turn back on the psp for this
FAT PSP:
->Insert the UPMS memory stick
->Hold down the L trigger button
->Insert Pandora battery
->Release L trigger button when the Ultimate Loader menu appears
(If your psp boots to the XMB, it means you didn?t hold the L trigger button down)

well i think i bricked it, now it wont turn on without the memory card in it and the memory card somehow became formatted

It's not bricked. It just appears to be bricked when the battery is in Pandora mode. Take out the battery, plug in the charger, and turn it on. Now insert the battery and go from there.

Ok so good news i got it all to work loads perfect and i see more menus then i did before, i used a different memeory stick and it worked. Now how the hell do i use it?
