I'm wondering how long people's PS2's have lasted since they've first started playing burnt/backup'd CD/DVDs on their PS2s. Also, please state what method you use to play them, and PS2 version. Modchip, Swap Magic, fliptop. etc.
PS2 slimline v12
Swap Magic, fliptop
Verbatim media
For me, my previous PS2 seemed to last around 9-10 months with good hours of play almost every day before it finally gave out. I feel this was quite a short life span which is why I ask this :(
On another note, is it just me or do the Swap Magic discs seem to scratch very easily? I had to replace it after about 4-5 months. This coming from a person that knows how to handle media/takes care of them.
BTW, I got a new PS2 recently. It's a v16 version (satin silver) if i'm not mistaken. But I get the feeling this one isn't gonna last as long for some reason.
fat ps2 v7 - original owner
300gig maxtor hdd / network adapter
hdloader 0.8b via independence exploit
i've only had the hdd for a year, but the system has lasted 5+ years. dvd playback, hours of play on original game discs, transporting to other places, and it's still running smoothly. monthly cleaning maintenence kept it running strong. and it hasn't been opened; warranty sticker still intact.
