When I put in my COD 4 disc intially, on the main screen, where the logo is, I get a "scrpt error" message. it asks me if i wish to continue. When I say yes, the games reboots....when i say no, i have to exit the game, and go back and reselect it again. Any ideas?

Try deleting all the data and settings for COD4 on the Ps3's hdd. If that dosent work, what id do is rent a copy of cod4, and if that works then theres 100% proof that ud have a faulty disk.
