Yes, but you will have to keep the original firmware of your dvd drive on one of them, and flash the other with the modified fw, because both drives must have the same key in order to work, there is not much point of doing this though, some people have speculated that microsoft are logging info from the dvd drive which helps them detect modded consoles, if thats the case, using 2 drives will not make a difference, because the log will be on your system.
this is correct, if microsoft detect that you have played a backup you may not be banned straight away, it could be months before you get banned but they have flagged your system
