Someone should make a UMD w/out a disk inside, instead it holds 2 (or 3) small M2 Memory Stick. At least it makes the UMD drive more useful for us with custom firmware that disable UMD disk when playing iso's.

It's possible, but it requires serious hard-mods.
Mem sticks are better, buecause they load faster.

What Im trying to say is a UMD without a disk inside, instead theres like 2 m2 slots in there so it makes the UMD (more like fake UMD) as a M2 holder. Id doesnt need to be read, just a holder for M2 memory sticks. AKA UMD M2 holder? Or whatever you wanna call it. At least that way, you make use of UMD drive instead of empty one.

Or you could just use your memory stick and save 100$+
PSP Slim: Piano Black, 3.90 M33 + Sony 8GB MSPD
Airsoft Gun Of Choice: ICS M4 R.I.S. Baby!

Hey guys there's no need for that cause
Someone sacrificed his PSP UMD Drive to put some storage into it.
It's named PvP?s Internal USB Mass Storage
Quote:
do you still have access to the UMD drive? That was quickly answered and sadly you don?t. So if you?re willing to sacrifice that, then you may add 30GB+ of storage ? internally!
End of quote.

Google it. :)

I've seen the mod. What i don't get is why couldn't you get the psp to read flash drives higher than 8gb. Cause if you could do that then you could hard wire to those 4gb battery adapters and you could replace it with a 32+ gb SSD.

Samsung has introduced the 32gb and the 64gb compact flash cards. These would rock in my PSP. Having an 8gb and two 4gb's is a pain in the arse switching between. If i could hard mod one of these to the memory stick port, i'd do it in a heartbeat.

there's a compatability check in the firmware. sony would have to create new firmware that would accept higher memory sticks. but seeing that the 8gig is the biggest, there's no need for increasing the memory stick capacity in the firmware.
ps2: v7 scph-39001 - independence exploit - hdloader 0.8c - maxtor 300gb hdd
(+[__]%) psp slim ta-085v1: 6.60 PRO B10
wii (powered by bootmii/priiloader): 4.1u - d2x v10beta53-alt (base 56) - configurable usb loader v70r51/devolution r188 - wd scorpio black 7200rpm 320gig w/ ams venus ds2 enclosure
got a whole lot more to list . . .
