In some, not all, of my avi movies I dont get any audio in windows media player. Im using vista, and these same files worked fine in XP a few weeks ago.

When I open them in nero showtime they have audio. Any ideas?

You mean this dialog box? Because after I click "OK" nothing happens.

Thanks alot. Re downloaded it from the official site and installed and fixed the problem.

But I haven't yet cranked up the "master" bar in the gain tab. What exactly does this do and should I do it if my files are working right now?

Also, you should definitely go 64 bit. 64 bit totally owns.
