hello. i know the recommended types for discs are the verbatim when it comes to making xbox360 game backups. but has anyone else had success with other types such as memorex, ridata, etc? please advise.

In my area I had two choices. Memorex or Sony. I tried the memorex first and my burner will not even attempt to burn. It kicks them right back out. So, I had to use the Sony's. My burner liked those I guess as not only did my burner NOT reject them, they also have ran flawlessly in my hitachi 47dj.
I still plan on getting some verbatims, but these Sony's have given me zero problems. Not one coaster or any game freezes, ect.
The best ones that everyone and anyone would say is verbatium DVD+R DL. They maybe a but more expensive than most DVD,but I have mot yet heard anyone have a problem w/them.They are usually go for around $50-60 for a 20pack,but if youi have a Best Buy in your area they are going for $30 right now.

i went to my local pc shop where i bought my pc and have always gone to to buy anything pc wise. I spoke to him about flashing my xbox and also where the cheapest place for verbs to backup my games were. He told me that svp was the cheapest but he highly recommends "Arita" which are also dual layer 2.4x but are alot cheaper. He can get them for me for £8 for 25 discs but i looked on the net and found them at online price around £13 for 25.
Within the next week i am having a pioneer burner installed to burn my backups and ill post the results but he said he has used them for quite along time and they have never let him down, which you will find is most peoples opinion on them if you google it.
They apparently use the same dye as verbatim's

i know i wil most likely get told nothing beats verbs, im not trying to say these are as good as verbs but they are incredibly good. I think they are made by ri-tek.. ? "
