My wii is currently at 2.0u. I havent installed wiikey yet, waiting for arrival. Is it best to update the wii "before" doing the mod?
Seeing as I "think" I joined the ranks of others who made a mistake buying from ps2cover. I am goin to just buy another wiikey from a reputable place who will overnight it, if the other one comes, it comes.
I have read thru "rafadawns" Wii Firmware Updates, Wii and WiiKey Resources Thread. I understand the proper way of updating "post" mod. My question there is. If I dont want to play SMG which I dont. Should I still run it, to let it do its thing? If I dont are there any other games I wont be able to play (yes or no, not looking for a game list)? Are there other games with that update on them? If so is it worth just doing the update just to do it?
I have searched alotta threads before asking these questions, it just seems "SO MANY" of them just end up being taken over by "I took update and my wii stopped working, help" posts instead of the questions clearly being awswered.
That said, I thank alotta the people here in advance as I have gotten alotta "good" info here so far.
Ok heres what you do.
Step 1. go here buy a wiikey: http://www.modchipcentral.com/store/home.php (this site worked for me rater well)
Step 2. Update your wii its no big deal
Step 3. ?????
Step 4. Profit
Thanks, thats where I was gonna order from. Like I said I read the update topic. I just wasnt sure if I needed to have SMG patch at all, or if I should just throw it on there for the hell of it.
