I don't think it works considering the PS2 (phat) used a tray, rather than a slot loading dvd drive....the metal cage around the disk helps keep it stable too. I think it would just be difficult, and rather silly, to replace.
So, the only way to play backups will be to have to mod yor Wii. Ok. Thanks, in the end I still hope something like Swap Magic will be developed as it is simple and convenient :P
It could be possible, but information would have to obtained from Datel Inc. and would take decrypting modchip bios information drive functions etc...It doesn't sound impossible to do if you look at GCoS(Game Cube Operating System)development.I'm not saying it would be easy, but I'm sure it can be done.
Bleh, soldering your PS2 means your warantee is void, also you risk a higher chance of damaging your PS2 am I correct? I am not a technical guy, but I hear that people with soldered PS2s (chipped) experience recoil effects in the long-term, as in, their PS2s break down?
The thing is, I always want to do stuff externally if possible. I just dont want to touch the inside of my consoles just in case :P
