I just got a new slim psp. Had 3.72 firmware on it and had it switched to 3.71m33-2. (1)Is this the latest firmware or is that the 3.71m33-4 version? (2) Do I need to update it if its not the latest? and if so how? (3) I want to play Metal Gear Solid from the PS1 or PSX, whatever you want to call it, do I need an emulator to do that or can I just do the conversion thing I was reading about? Something about converting it into and Eboot.php and a Keys.Bin and just putting it in the Games folder and then just running it off of the memory stick?

i would upgrade to 3.71m33-4 as it is more stable http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/569454

and for ps1 games you don't need an emulator
