Didn't know if this was out there yet but the wiid team updated to firmware #3 were a back up copy of Smg can be played

Are you saying there's a WiiD firmware update which is firmware #3 and this allows WiiD owner to play SMG? If so, where can I find the update? Thanks.

Nevermind the question of where to find the firmware. Found it and downloaded it. I will update this and hopefully it will work.

Kyored, have you tried with the new firmware? Do you still need to update your Wii firmware to 3.1u with the new WiiD firware?

Hi i don't know much about wii mod chips but i bought a wiid and everything i need to play backups, everyone told me they abandoned their chip and were no longer updading there firmware so it was no use.
does this mean you can play backups with the new firmware and what is smg? this is probably a dumb question but again i don't know much about wii modding thanks

yes you can. SMG is Super Mario Galaxy.

Ugh.

I waited and waited and assumed Wiid was dead. Why didn't these idiots at least post 1 stinken sentence on their website that they were alive and working on this. Their last updated content on the site was 4/6/07 so it looked like they were gonzo...

I paid a kid to remove my wiid and replace it with a wiikey that seemed to be the dominant chip.

Now wiid updates things and wiikey.cn has been down for weeks.

Anybody know if wiikey is alive? If not, are there any 3rd party folks that can update it or am I just stuck here praying that Nintendo doesn't release a patch that makes the wiikey a paperweight...

WiiD has proven to be extremely unreliable. They did this too late to get anybody to come back to there side. Even though Wiikey is currently down the D2CKey devs still back it. If anything were to happen firmware wise I'm sure you'd get a fix from those guys.
