The exact size of a Wii ISO

This step is very important. You need to check your file and see how many KB large it is. To do this Right-Click on your iso(this is in your rawdump directory) and select properties. It should say,

Nintendo Wii ISO size: 4.37 GB (4,699,979,776 bytes).

Nintendo Gamecube ISO size: 1.35 GB (1,459,978,240 bytes)

All Nintendo Wii and Gamecube images will be this exact byte size. If your Wii image is off by any then you have a bad dump and need to try again.




I got that from a thread "How to backup Wii Games." Does the same rules apply to an ISO download off the internet? Because my ISOs are off by a little and they work OK. So, just to repeat, does the same rules apply for downloading off the internet?

For gamecube I have downoaded a couple, I have noticed that for some reason the Winrared files are far more compressed, but when decompressed they reach the correct size for example, Luigis Mansion is 184MB and when uncompressed it became 1.35GB, same happened to mario kart, 300MB and uncompressed 1.35GB, so it wont matter as long as when uncompressed they reach that size.

i have downloaded two, on the preview pane it says 4.37gb, but under details its 4,589,824 bytes, is this correct or they are bad downloads

Ravilla, those should be ok. My ISOs were exactly like those and they worked perfectly. Maybe I can help you out and give you more information if you provide what modchip you have, the game title and its region, and the region of your Wii.
