i have ydl 5.0 and im wondering how to connect it to the internet wirelessly i dont really want to update yet so could someone either tell me how or give me a site or somethin

awesomely cool, i got it to work after some jury-rigging.... ok, this is how i did it- 1. went to http://www.terrasoftsolutions.com/suppor...de-kernel.shtml

and followed the directions until step 2 of Activate the new kernel. The first part of it seemed to work, but the ./buildkboot.sh command gave me an error.

So i jumped to this page and edited the kboot.conf file using the gedit command in the terminal. make sure you are in super user mode (su) to edit it.

you'll need to type in a different kernel number(sequence?) than the one outlined in the second link.... the one you will most likely be using is kernel-2.6.23-9.ydl5.1 or something similar. after youve double (or triple) checked that the kboot.conf file is correct, save it and reboot.

then follow http://www.terrasoftsolutions.com/support/solutions/ydl_5.x/ps3-wifi-config.shtml AND remember to put the 0x in front of the wep key if your using one....

this took a lot of trial and error, because i dont know linux programming.

p.s. i cannot stress enough that you get the kboot.conf file configured correctly. its not too hard, but i have an awful feeling a re-install would be in order if you dont do it right.

Hey guys. I recently downloaded and installed YDL 5.0.2 and I was trying to get the WiFi to work using the guide "http://www.terrasoftsolutions.com/support/solutions/ydl_5.x/ps3-wifi-upgrade-kernel-no-internet.shtml" that was posted by Lubricant.

I got as far as practically the last step.

Run the script to build a new kboot.conf
chmod 700 buildkboot.sh [ENTER] ./buildkboot.sh [ENTER]

After I enter this in, it says the ./buildkboot.sh is denied. Any help on what I could try?
