Hi all,

I just got a wii (ver. 3.1U) and was wondering what my options were in regard to running backups and homebrew. I was reading about SD-Boot and SDloader, but I heard that there were problems with AR Max and the Datel Homebrew SDMedia Launcher being blacklisted, and the disc swap method not working. Can anyone point me in the right direction? I've had experience with software mods, as I have a PSP. Since the Wii is my family's, I don't think i'll be able to chip it.

If these softmods have been blocked in the firmware (ver. 3.1U), are there any other products coming out that allow homebrew/EMUs/GC backups to be played?

What's my best option?

without a chip you cannot achieve what you wish

so chip it or dont play backups

What about emulation? Is there a way to run roms/EMUs without using GCN homebrew?

Like Thinone said, you will need to chip your Wii if you want to do anything homebrew related.
