I just purchased a Memorex MRX-530LE which comes with Nero 7 Essentials. I am able to burn DVD without error but unable to playback, it will definately either pause or gives many squares on the screen on EVERY DVD I burned with it. I have burned many DVDs on my old burner(2.4X) with great results but like to upgrade to a faster burner(20X) with DL capability. I have used different blank DVDs from TDK, ativa, Ridata, etc, no goal. Any recommendations? Do I have a bad Memorex burner or is it a Nero 7 SW issue? Many Thanks.
I have been using DVDDecrypter, then DVD Shrink 3.2 for years.

Unless your Memorex are made by Ricoh, you are using all poor quality media. get some Verbatims or Sony. If you buy online, get Tayio Yuden. Your burner might be able to burn X20, but that will only give you DVDs that will freeze, pixelate, or just plain not work. Burn @ X8.
Also, it is time to change from DVD Decrypter to DVDFab HD Decrypter, as the old DVD Decrypter is not updated anymore to face the new encyptions.
This guide will backup virtually any DVD outhere.

I could tell you about the over $70 combo AnyDVD+CloneDVD2, like many people do after I suggest the free option, but I doubt you are interested, after using DVD Decrypter+Shrink for so long. But you never know, so take a look at it.

For burning DL, still X8(unless your discs are X8 rated, then I would go for X4), and get ImgBurn. It is much better than Nero at managing the layer transition. With ImgBurn in "Build" mode, it will select its own layer break point. Verbatim discs are the best for DL, I would not even try on anything else.
