i have a flashed xbox 360 and i brought my hd over to a unflased 360 to buy some arcade games off of the xbox live marketplace, which worked fine, but i can't play it on my own xbox.
if i don't play any games on live, but still want to purchase stuff from the market place, will M$ still be able to detect that my xbox has been flashed and ban it?
If you are only switching the HDD back and forth from flashed box to the non flashed box then they cant tell. But if you get the flashed box online then they will be able to detect it sooner or later. But just switching HDD you should be safe.
so i was able to get onto xbox live with my flashed xbox, but the games i purchased on the unflashed xbox don't show up. it shows up in my hd and i try to redownload them, but they're not on the menu. any way i can play those games?
Last time i checked Xbox Live Arcade games are locked to the specific console ID on which you downloaded them. Which means when you swap the HDD over to the other console the only way they can be played is online, not offline.

i created a new gamer tag on my xbox but i'm still unable to download the things that i got from the old gamer tag from the other xbox. all the items say that they've been downloaded before. i deleted the old gamer tag from my xbox, but not completely off M$ network. do you think if i did that, it would work?
not real sure as i have not tried it. But from what i read the Xbox Live Arcade games are locked to the console you downloaded them on, so you may not be able to download them on another console. But you should still be able to play them online.
As much as you may hate to spend the 3hrs, you may want to call MS and see what they have to say about it. Just skip the modded and unmodded thing and tell them you got a newer console for Christmas or something.
