On the psp go to System setting then go to System information. Your firmware is the system software. For example 1.00 being is the oldest firmware and 3.80 the newest.

You will need to use a Pandora Battery + Magic memory Stick.

If you know someone that has a PSP with 1.50 or custom firmware already on it ask them to help you to create a Pandora Battery + Magic memory Stick using this guide HERE.

If you don't have access to a custom firmware PSP then go HERE and follow this guide to create the Magic memory Stick then either buy a Datel Tool battery or Hardmod the Battery to a Pandora Battery. the guide explains those options more..

Pandora Battery + Magic Memory Stick is your only option. So use 1 of the above guides to create them and use them to install 3.71 M33-4 custom firmware to your PSP.

It isn't complex if you follow the guide.

But if you want to play those ISO files you downloaded the above options are the only ones you have.

You buy the Datel Tool battery online (Do a google search).

As for the Memory Stick all you can do is try using it to see if it will work. If you do have issues creating the Magic Memory Stick then you will need to get a new memory Stick which 512MB is recommended.

No damage will be done to the Memory Stick. All you do is format it after you have installed the custom firmware to the PSP.
