I looked through the forums and couldnt find nothing on downloading movies. I have found and successfully copied to movies useing anydvd/clonedvd. But how do you download movies and burn them with Nero? Sorry if this has been answered a hundred times. I looked on Google but didnt want to choose something that would just destroy my comp. So if any of you could give me info on sites to allow free downloads of good quality movies then all help would be well appreciated.

The link above explains why there is no information on downloading pirated material, however sites like Pirate Bay and Mininova contain the information you are looking for.
The 'torrent' is used by software (Utorrent is one) to supervise downloading.

Depends where you live.My own example (Canada) the Government intends to change the law to make it illegal - I hasten to add that before you get the wrong idea, Canadian politicians cannot be bought by the industry - they can however be rented long enough to do their bidding.

if you want to download movies, I suggest using dvd flick (free program)to convert those video files to dvd compliant files, then using the burning program of your choice (although dvd flick will do the burning just fine for you.)to burn to disc.

Ok I got the program and am now in the process of useing it. How do you once you add the project do you convert it to DVD?

Click "Create DVD" at the top. I tried to find a guide for you to use, but couldn't. I think you'll find it very simple to use once you get going.
Be sure to go into project settings and select your blank media you want to use, and in the same window select the "burn project to disc" box and select which burner you want to use.

Cool im gonna try again in a sec... Why does it take so long to aquire these movies? I was trying to aquire a movie from somewhere and it said it was going to take 12 hours to 2 days? Is there something wrong with my Computer?

yes, add title, then create. This is when the files will be converted. If you select it to burn to disc in the settings you are finished. Put your blank disc in and the next thing will be it spitting out your finished movie.

The time to download depends on many things, you internet speed, their transfer speed, amount of internet traffic, size of file ect. The bigger the file, the longer it takes. Generally the more popular, the longer it takes. When you download, look for the file with the most seeds and the least leeches. 2 days is not uncommon for a large file with only a few seeds. Some of the more popular torrent sites like the Pirate Bay and mini nova might possibly yield you better results.

What if you dont pick burn to disc? And it finishs how then do you burn it to a disc? I cant seem to find my movie now..

check your my documents folder for a folder named "DVD" that is where mine saved the video file to by default.

depends on a number of factors, your computer speed, whether you are using other apps at the same time, the file size of the movie, length ect. For a full size movie that seems acceptable, for a 700 mb avi that seems a bit excessive, but it depends on so many different things.

Wow yeah... I just tried to burn a movie to a DVD R with Nero Vision Express 2. It so far has tooken $ hours and 50 minutes.. And its saying its going to take another 45 minutes to finish.. Now what can I do to speed this up?
Computer specs:
Windows xp
Pentium 4 2.0
512 DDR Memory
Gforce Graphics 128 or something
And its a fresh installation of Windows XP

probably not much, these things do take time.... maybe add some ram would be about it. Make sure you let the PC do it's thing without running other apps, including web browsing.

Is that just burning process or the combined time of the converting the AVI files and burning?
It depends on a number of factors:
-What kind of quality/bitrate settings your using
-How long the actual source file is
-What speed your burning at obviously
-Whether your multitasking while converting/burning
The last thing it's Dependant on is your processor speed, even my old Pentium II 366Mhz can convert AVI files in under an hour..
I myself take around 1 hour to 1 & 1/2 hours for most full length feature films. I convert at the highest quality settings, burn at around 2x - 4x speed.

your old PII 366 could convert full length avi's in an under an hour? To say you can do a full length film in an hour and a half is pretty irresponsible considering your specs are top notch, and not the norm... not everyone has a super fast computer and loads of RAM. 90% of the member in here could not achieve those results.

Beg to differ mate...
My computer's pretty average compared to what a lot of people have on these boards, it's at least 2 years old now.
Search around and you'll see what I mean.
1 Hour is not unheard of, particularly common with VSO users. Heck even Recoding DVD's with Nero Recode 2 takes less than 1 & 1/2 hours usually, try it out for yourself if you don't believe me.
Unless your a complete videophile and using those CCE/HenC type codecs, then 1-2 hours is the norm.

if you say so... what do I know, even if you are the only one that seems to be able to achieve these speeds of video conversion and burning. I still contend that in *most* cases you are pretty much looking at a 1:1 ratio of play time vs conversion/burn time.

my self most of my conversons are 1.39gb avi and i can do it in about 1 1/2 hour and that is with vso convertxtodvd and my spsc are p4 1.7 768 ddr ram 160gb 7200rpm segate hd, 4x hp burner and i use the highest conversion rate, also 5.1 audio on the movies, also i have other things going on while i am doing this, but not to cpu intence, and i think that i have a slow system compared to what Amir89 has posted with his system.
