hey AD Adicts

I was just wondering, since I'm in a"let's customize/hack/mod my psp" mood, I was wondering if there is a way to get tv on my psp. What I mean is that is there a way to mod or buy something for the psp so that I would be able to catch a tv channel on my psp using my wifi antena anywhere, even where wifi is not provided. I don't want a tv that will only work where there is wireless internet, unless that is the only way, then I would try it.
Also, the homebrew gps that is provided for the psp, can you set directions on it like on a regular psp, and itll give u directions and how to get somewhere?
thats all my questiions..thnx in advance

you do know that if you want the location free player on the fat psp, you'd have to give up the 1.50 kernel addon on 3.71+ m33 firmware, right? it's not a problem for the slim psp since the 1.50 kernel isn't supported.

ps2: v7 scph-39001 - independence exploit - hdloader 0.8c - maxtor 300gb hdd
(+[__]%) psp slim ta-085v1: 6.60 PRO B10
wii (powered by bootmii/priiloader): 4.1u - d2x v10beta53-alt (base 56) - configurable usb loader v70r51/devolution r188 - wd scorpio black 7200rpm 320gig w/ ams venus ds2 enclosure

got a whole lot more to list . . .

not necessarily. 3.52 m33-4 was the last one to have 1.50 in the firmware and have location free player intact. my fat psp is still on 3.52 m33-4 since i barely use it; love my slim.

No, not even OE had LocationFree player, they have to remove it for the 1.50 kernel. (I think.....pretty sure)

Only if you lived in Japan. Not sure if LocationFree plugs in via USB (probably does), but the 1seg tuner does.

and this second thing the othe guy noted the "1seg tuner" so i looked it up on google..and it said this "It picks up Digital terrestrial broadcast TV. Currently only broadcasted in Japan, the DS, Cellphones, cars, etc now have 1Seg built in. Great quality compared to the analog TV signals. Immensely useful and free to watch.
" so doesnt that mean I would not be able to use it here in Canada anyways?

No. The 1seg Tuner hardwarer is available worldwide via eBay, but the service is only available in Japan.

This is what somebody mentioned on the qj.net forums
"This is US relevant because in 2009 analogue
will be no more and digital broadcasting will
take over.

All of those old analogue only TV's will get
junked for Digital only TV's.

At this point the 1Seg tuner will work in
the US. :) "
SO I guess I have to wait then

Ok so I think Ive got it all explained now..
Summary to my question:
Theres two ways to watch tv on the psp. 1. Location free player 2. 1seg tuner.

1. The location player sends the signal to the psp via wifi but u need to have an internet access to watch the tv, which doesnt solve my problem or give me what I wanted
2. The 1seg tuner does exactly what I want. It gives u the ability to watch tv anywhere without the need of internet. All u need is the 1seg tuner device which is relatively cheap. Unfortunately this 1seg tuner only works in Japan due to the fact that it catches digital chanels not analogue. Digital channels will be available in N AMerica in 2009.

Solution: Wait until 2009 when all broadcasting will be digital :(
AT least I know how thsi works now
