Secondly, a few things about my console:
-Recently purchased (unable to work on Wiikey - so the guy at the modshop says)
-Modded with D2C Key professionaly in Melbourne Australia
-It's PAL
I bought heaps of illegal copies of Wii games from Thailand, about 20, for the sake of explaining this to you lets say 15 were NTSC and 5 were PAL. Now here's where the problem is. All the PAL copies are functioning, however about half of the NTSC copies freeze at the start screen. What i mean is I hit start and it just freezes. Other times it will say cannot read disk or a similar error message when I put the disk into the Wii, but that is usually fixed by rubbing the disk lightly with cloth the putting it back into the Wii only for it to load for 2 or 3 seconds and go back to the black screen. The disk's arent damaged but the guy at the store in Thailand said "only 70% of the disks will function or so". Hmm? Anyone else with a similar problem and anyone with a solution thanks.
In addition, I recognize that buying illegal copies IS illegal but i really couldn't be bothered making up a lie to satisfy those that are morally sensitive. All I want is advice on why my Wii is being such a Bi***.
There are a few further issues but I'll clear them up in further posts in this thread once i get my head around what's really happening!!
yeah dude i feel ya, im like the exact opisite i got a ntsc and try pal game ... the thing is theres like a list of games that work and dont .... just how it is. Keep ahold of em tho incase a firmware update allows you to play them in the future :)
So theres nothing I can do? What if i download the same game in the same region will that work too? Also do you have MSN so i can talk 2 u about it further?
Yeah i know its illegal but im not suggesting links or torrents or whatever im saying I broke the law and you SHOULDNT lol all im asking for is advice on how to make my WII work with my 'backups' lol. Anyways i'm aware of the bricking thing if it asks for an update i just run and pull the power out of my wii :P:P. My mate went to a different asian country and bought similar games and its funny, the SAME ONES dont work and the ones that do work, both mine and his work!!!!! wierd huh? anyways any solutions?
Well you can just download the .isos...but since you do not own the games you cannot. The discs that you have are probably just trash. You will have to buy high quality discs like Taiyo Yudens or Verbatims and burn the .iso with them.
Hey guys thanks for your replies so far. I've found this site claiming to detail the games that do NOT work on a Pal system from other regions after your Wii is modded. Is this the reason the games dont work??
if they are naff disks you could copy them to a better quality disk and try it that way....
but as stated before as you dont own the original you could get into trouble by doing this so its not adviseable.
