i think the best way to share media with your ps3 is to copy it to a dvdrw as data and copy it to your ps3 .. but for a program the one i used and worked was twonkyvision . http://www.twonkymedia.com/
also you could set up wmp11 i never got it to work :( but http://boardsus.playstation.com/playstat...thread.id=47608

are you sharing over a wireless connection?
try pluging a wire into it and see if you still have the problem

I connected my PS3 via Wi-Fi tonight to test WMP11,it runs fine no stutters or glitches and it runs and downloads as smoothly as my wired connection, there is no difference at all.If your are using Wi-Fi and your signal quality is low, then that could be the problem, also the problem could be that you have a huge amount of files on your PC and if so it will take your PS3 a while to find them all.

If your Wi-Fi quality is low, i would suggest moving the PS3 closer to the source,if you have 80% or higher you should be fine.

Im not sure what your problem is,it could be that you need to change some settings.

You can also use TVERSITY, which is what i use when i stream...download it here.
It's really easy to set up, basically install it, add the files you want to share, add the program to your PC firewall, search for media servers on your PS3 and your away!

Personally though i prefer to do as yimmy sed and either copy them onto the PS3's HDD (i do this via a usb pen drive), or play them directly from a DVD-R or an external hard drive.

I also have TVersity on, that doesn't even get seen by the ps3 no matter how many times i search for media servers.

In my personal opinion WMP11 is the easiest to use and its better and less hassle than copying your media to discs then copying to your PS3.

I think you should check your settings.

Heres a simmilar thread, check youve done everything here first.

Make sure you have added the program to the firewall on your PC (windows firewall as well as any other you have running, zonealarm etc). If it still doesn?t show up try turning the firewall(s) completely off temporarily and try searching again...this is what i had to do at first. The PS3 should definitely find the media server; you can then adapt your firewall settings as needed, or just turn it off when you want to stream.

If you do this it should definitely work, i had the same problem initially, but it?s all working perfectly now!!
