Here is something stupid to think about. I have a sony monitor giving me problems. Well I decided to call Sony and hang up if they wanted money for the call. They never asked for money so I continued with the call. I told them what is going on.
They say to me there is a 3 year warenty on the monitor. I'm thinking great. The build date is OCT 2005. I bought it 12-12-2005. So there is no way it could be a Referb unless they can turn them arround that quick.
According to Sony they cant look at the serial to determine if its a refurb (nasty word). They are denying to repair under warenty since I cant get the reciept. The place I got it is now out of buissness. It is impossible to get the recipt.
So I argue with Sony that it was not even built 3 years ago and it should be covered. They continue to deny it and even try to get me to think it was built over 3 years ago. I did not fall for that one.
I guess this is the type of customer no service you can expect from a major vendor like Sony. I may not purchase from them again. If its built under 3 years ago it should be covered no matter what. Dumb ()

Cant get one. went out of buisness. Was CompUSA. I did call the 800 number. they claimed they could not find it since that store closed over a year ago. They did try to help a great deal but could not locate it. Didnt know there was a venting thread thanks for the move.

I did it. I won. Called Sony again with my frustration. I made them relook up my serial. They found it was not a refurb and covered under warenty. Gave me the adress to send it into. I dont need the slip. Got to love persistance.

Should've done it in the first place, anyway. Nonetheless, nice work.

You should be thankful you wernt dealing with Microsoft... If you were they would have marked your serial number as stolen and delete your account that has your extended warranty attached to it, and tell you that you didn't send in your product because they didnt receive it, when UPS clearly states that it was delivered...
LOL! Yeah that entire process took about 3 month... It was finally resolved when I called the state attorney general. To bad my replacement console only lasted 4 weeks!
LOL!

Good stuff, Mr_Del.
And that's ridiculous, Domreis. :-p The console lasting 4 weeks is a bit of a kick in the nuts.
