I just got a ps3! I have COD4 demo on PC and i relly like it but i hear its better for ps3? The only thing im worried about is the controls. Never played a fps on a console before and i am a big fan of WASD + Mouse controls. Can someone tell me if its easy to play on a console and/or what the cod4 controls are on ps3?
Thanks!

Honestly, if you liked your fps's on a pc, you may not like them on any console. The vast majority of pc gamers whose posts I've read claimed that aiming with thumbsticks flat out sucks as compaired to a mouse.

can you fully customise the analog sticks? I like to use the left one to walk and turn, and the right one to strafe and aim. Been doing that since Goldeneye on N64. Is this possible?

Well, that's because it's true :) It's a lot harder to aim with analogue sticks after you've been using a mouse to aim. A mouse is more natural as you can accurately aim exactly where you want, analogue sticks are less accurate and slower. Though, the learning curve isn't really too steep, it only takes a day or two to get used to it again...

So i've been playing fps' on pc for a good while.
Should I buy it and just learn how to aim?
the last fps console i really played was medal of honor on ps2, any comparison?

Yea, as i said, the learning curve isn't too bad, in answer to your question - i can't actually remember too well about MoH, it's been years since i've played any of them on PS2 :/ though yes, i presume it's roughly the same.

I've played CoD 4 through the campaign mode on the PC and it's great - though i downloaded it - therefore not being able to play online, yet that's the main draw to the game. The reason i'm going to buy it for PS3 instead of PC is because an 8400GS really isn't good enough to turn any of the nice effects on.

The only experience i've had so far with the console version of CoD 4 was on the X360, though both X360 and PS3 versions will be relatively the same. It only took me about half an hour of playing before i'd got used to the new control scheme, i still find it a bit hard when precise aiming is needed, say, for long distance shooting, but it's not that bad.

I played Battlefield 1942 on p.c for a long time 2 years and now i have COD4 for PS3. Although P.C will always be better for FPS I got used to the controls pritty quick for this game. COD4 is a great game and the controls are very tidy. Thumbs up 4 me go 4 it!!

Well I havent played the pc version. But the PS3 version is great, but its missing many features that I love in pc versions such as counterstrike.

examples-
* unable to mute other players voice ( supposedly coming in patch but its been forever. Especially annoying since there is no push to talk.

* unable to text chat with people during the game

* unable to choose which server you want to join. You can only pick which type of match you wanna play and it trys to find a server for you.

Other than that its a fantastic game and Im glad i got it. But If I had a powerful enough pc I would definately prefer to play it on there. Mouse or console controller - I find them about equally easy to play on. Maybe a little easier to aim with mouse.

That's the default. Not sure if you can change it, never tried to. Its the standard in most console fps.

Yes, that's the default, and the most logical.

Well I bought the game and so far its good!
I am still gettin used to the aiming with the sticks but its getting better.
I found that you can customize the button layout including the analog sticks.
I think there is four options that you can choose.
two of the being the flipped version of the previous.
I left it to the default because i found it to be easier.
It seems it takes a lot more concentration on the hands when playing than on a pc.

The only problem I have now is my online rank is low and i was at lv28 on my pc!
