PSP 100gb Hard drive?

I've been surfing the net and come across something that interested me. There have been a few rumors of Samsung/Toshiba teaming up with Sony to create a psp or psp mod to give it a hard drive which would be 20gb, 40gb, 60gb, 80gb 0r 100gb. These rumors aren't true but there has been talk of hard drives on psps. I would like to know (if there is an expert around) about the compatibility of such a mod a drive such as Toshiba's MK1011GAH are already used for Ipods so they are not impractical for portable systems. if it is possible how can it be done?

Impractical. The PSP does not recognize MS media with 8 GB or more. However, they are releasing a 16 GB MS PRO DUO soon, so we should expect compatibility for that, but not as much as 100 GB.

someone already did stuff a ipod hdd into the psp. annoying thing is that the usb cable sticks out.

Well sure, you can do it, but it's impractical. It will not recognize all the space, and you would be getting ripped off several dozens of MB.
