that is the fw version
and you need custom fw to run games (ISOS) from memory stick
you will need pandoras battery + mstick to downgrade and install cfw
1.52>2.0>1.5>3.40 OE-A>3.71 M33-4
3.60>4.01 M33-2

Do you have a custom firmware PSP yourself?
If so go HERE and follow this guide.
If you only have his Official Firmware PSP go HERE and use this guide.

In order to run the Pandora Creator you need a PSP with custom firmware.

You will need to create a Pandora Battery by using a custom firmware PSP or hardmodding it. You could also buy a Datel Tool battery.
More information is HERE.

You've gotta downgrade it, Pandora doesn't provide custom firmware. You must downgrade to a Homebrew enabled version then upgrade it to M33.
3.93 firmware is out :)
I forgot to say, once you got the PBP pandora files, if you are using just one battery and want to revert it back, you have to backup eeprom. Otherwise, just get two batteries and change one of them into pandora. Make sure you friend's one is safely out the way because he won't appreciate losing his battery :p
And also, it wouldn't break his PSP.

You must update to 3.52 M33. Then to M33-2 then M33-3 and so on until the last revision. After that, you can go straight to any other versions. I recommend 3.71 M33 or 3.90 M33.

It just depends on what Magic Memory Stick you use. If you use the 1 above that I provided in the link then FAT/SLIM PSP's will go straight to 3.71 M33-2.
It is not mandatory that you downgrade to 1.50 then up.
If your going to use your friends PSP to create the Magic Memory Stick + Pandora Battery then use this guide HERE.

You do not have to do M33-2 then M33-3 etc. etc. Once your at 3.52 M33 you can update straight to 3.52 M33-4.

What guide did you use?
If it was 1 that I linked to then yes all you need to do is convert a Battery to a Pandora Battery then create the magic memory stick. Now place the Magic Memory Stick and Pandora Battery into your PSP and choose to install 3.71 M33 in the instillation menu list. This will install 3.71 M33-2 custom firmware to your PSP.

I would use this guide HERE.
It is the same as the other when it comes to the Magic memory Stick but it also walks you through the steps of creating the Pandora battery via OS Battery tool application.
This also will install 3.71 M33-2 custom firmware to your PSP.
