yes, u have to open a phat battery and cut off pin 5

You'll have to buy a datel tool battery ^_^
OR you can hardmod a PSP classic battery >_<
HERE is a nice guide on how to do it ^_^
And you can make a magic memory stick using the above guide (See juz the below the part) or THIS guide ^_^

when i was cutting off battery on the left side, smoke came out of the battery.it is safe to continue or should i stop?

Did, you do buy a new battery and cut off the pin ???
If so, then I think you've successfully pandorized your battery :)
*If it's the old battery, then the battery is screwed up*
Also, what happens when you insert the battery ?? :)
EDIT : *Pandora battery boots the PSP in "service mode" and when a 'magic memory stick' is inserted, you can downgrade your PSP/upgrade your PSP to custom firmware*
*If you put a pandora battery without a "magic memory stick", then your PSP will not boot* ^_^

ok i've got a new problem.i can't make magic memory stick.i have to write in cmd: "mspformat\mspformat.exe X" and hit Y and then enter. but when i hit enter it says that the system could not find the path specified.what did i do wrong???

Well, if you typed "mspformat\mspformat.exe X", then it will not work >_<
You had to replace the "X" with the drive letter of your PSP >_<
(In my case, it is "G")

So, "E" is your removable drive (PSP drive) eh ??? :)
Well, you must enable the "USB mode" in your PSP :)
If you've done that too, then I dunno what problem your PSP has >_>
