when i try to connect to xbl is just stays at the loading screen the the picture of the little xbox and the circles around it. its not frozen because i can still see the dot go around the circle but does anyone know why i can't connect to xbl?

Have you run a connection test under the system blade (network settings) to see if it finds a problem anywhere?

It could just be Xbox Live itself then, how long has this been happening? I know my connection was fine and one day i tured it on and it refused to auto sign in, or manually sign in. And even when it said that i was signed in and told me how many friends i had online, that would not show on the main dashboard.
I finally got it to connect and was playing online with friends, then an hour into playing my friends list finally showed those people as online.

If the tests passed then the connection between the PC and 360 should be fine, so the problem must be somewhere else. If you got banned for some reason then the Xbox Live test would have failed. If your connection settings were wrong then the IP or DSN or other tests would have failed.

It's LIVE. I get that also during "peak" hours. Although it seems to be getting better. If you want to start your game while it's doing that, scroll over to the Media tab (in case you didn't know).

its happening to me to mate your not on your own

its 23:44 UK time here dont know if thats peak as im new to live but it hasnt done this until tonight

it says signing into live then hangs on the 360 console logo with the radar blip circling it over & over & over & over......

eventually it signs in if you have the patience but its unbeleivably slow at doing so

mine passes all tests etc so it must be the xbl servers ro something.

As far as Xbox Live is concerned there really isn't much as far as non-peak time. People are playing from all over the world in all different time zones. So where it may be a non-peak time to me here in the US, over in the UK they are just getting fired up.

The simple fact is that they just do not have the servers they need to handle all the new people that jumped on XBL since Christmas time. Ever since then i have had off and on problems with signing in, very slow messaging, and so on. And if you have a slower connection then me (5MB cable) then i suppose the problems would be even worse.

yeah i understand that xbox should surely get it sorted though i mean we pay £40 a year for live and you get a service like that..... i mean dont get me wrong it is brilliant but tehy should sort the problems out by nw....over a month after christmas.

Anyway its not problems logging in as such its strange.....

i am set to auto sign in so it sings me in on live and it sticks with the console logo with the small green blip circling the console icon in the centre of the first few blades......and yet while this logo is there it is as if it has singed into live no problem and comes up with the little notifications saying "......is online" or".... has sent you a message" but heres a little temp fix...

if you flick over to the media blade or flick past the media blade say to settins then back on to the media blade the console logo is no longer there and you will now see the games library etc options..basically everything that would normally be. Now scroll back over to your live blade it is normal again ....wierd i know but hey it s a short term fix as long as microsoft get workin
