the full game is dual layer 7.9Gb. Since wiikey can't play dual layer yet, people have trim down stuff from the game to make it fit a regular dvd. so the downloads are one layer

He probably downloaded a fake torrent. There are couple torrents out there that's actually Mario Striker PAL version. If you update a Jap Wii with Striker it would brick. I have a Jap Wii and I'm playing the 5gig version of Brawl as I'm typing this. Do it at your own risk but if you have a Japanese Wii it should be fine. Just make sure you have the actual game.

Sorry if you can't read Japanese but I'll give you an example. Luigi I got last night after about 2 hours of play. I needed to play 800 rounds to get him in VS mode. Why is he already unlocked? Is it because I only have one layer of the game? Is that making characters unlocked very fast? With the rate I was going last night I?m thinking I'll have all of the characters unlocked by end of the day I think.
not to sound like a jerk but that's the most ridiculous thing i have ever heard. but i have luigi as well, also snake, ness, marth and a few others. hmmmm i don't know.
Isn't it? I couldn't believe all of the characters are unlocking so fast. How long did it take you to unlock your characters? Did you do it in VS mode or do you have the whole game and doing it in 1 player mode? I'm getting the full copy of the game tomorrow and I hope I can use this file for it.
all in vs matches with no more than 2 or 3 hours played total. it is kinda weird.

You don't need to do anything special really. Just copy it onto a SD card then onto the computer. Then you can just make a rar file out of it or something and make a torrent. It would be amazing to have all of the characters I only have the 5 gig version of the game. I can't unlock everything. You would be a hero if you id this.

I think you need to copy the file from your system to an SD card

Damn, that's even faster than what I did. It must be becasue it's only half of the game. You have the 5 gig version right, or do you have the full game?

I didn't download a fake torrent. I didn't download ANY torrent. I downloaded the TMD ISO from a newsgroup and it's definitely legit because the intro screen is in japanese and has the super smash logo in the bottom left side.

Im not so sure about that, has anyone tryed to just play using a friend battle with friend codes? If that fails then we can't if it doesn't then its a distance issue Japan is just too far away and their arn't enough brawl players in the US yet.

Ok so I just modded my Wii with Wiikey last night.
I updated my Firmware with 1.9g
I have 2 ISO disc of Brawl. One with BB one w/o
The problem Im running into is the config1.3. When I put it in the Wii its asking me for the Wiikey base disc. And another weird thing is at the top it says Config Disk v1.2 and it says region: unk
So Im guessing I didnt have the hacked config1.3 downloaded. So I got a link for that in another thread. I am going to burn that and use it.
So am I on the right track here? Or can I skip the config disc altogether and just go straight to the 10-15% method. Or will that mess things up?

unfortunately it says that the file cant be copied to my sd. protected like animal crossing it looks like. i have the single layter version too. you can unlock basically everything from vs. mode. i just did 1 man vs. mode melee and ran off the cliff. you are awarded characters and stages based on the number of vs. matches. there are multiple ways to unlock things. i can't upload the save it looks like. it only took a few hours to get all the characters and what i think is all of the levels.

sounds right. though i don't think 1.3 is an issue.
As long as you have the latest firmware on ur wii and are on 1.9g you sould be fine. It worked for my us wiikey wii

Yeah I just figured out thats exactly whats wrong. But I cant find the UNHACKED config disc. Every link on this website is linking me to the HACKED config disc. The only other reference I can find is telling me to get the config disc off the Wiikey website which Im sure you all know is down.
So I have the hacked config1.3 and config1.2 so far...

Yeah I just figured out thats exactly whats wrong. But I cant find the UNHACKED config disc. Every link on this website is linking me to the HACKED config disc. The only other reference I can find is telling me to get the config disc off the Wiikey website which Im sure you all know is down.
