OMG, great news. On Wiinewz.com, there is great info.

Nekokabu has updated his app to version 0.05 This has been verified to create a complete dual-layer dump of SSBB in around 40 hours. The game can be dumped faster (around 23 hours) with the following method...

1. Dump first layer with DVD Dumper (Wiikey DVD Dumper, SD Backup Utility etc. )

2. Use this app to dump the second layer.

3. Create a raw image of the 2nd layer using bundled unscrambler.exe

4. Connect the two images using the command copy /b 1st.iso+2nd.iso swashx.iso

5. You should now have a 8,511,160,320 byte image.

That means people who have the game can actually dump it now! If they don't mind leaving their comp on.

I'm working on downloading the files, but I have one concern. My wii is already partially bricked from SMG PAL version (my system is US). I'm not entirely sure the steps to fix that partial brick, and if someone could tell me that'd be nice.

But back to brawl, for those who didn't manage to do the 15% unplug method, it sounds like they all faced a partial brick similar to mine. Partial brick as in unable to access wii settings, double channels and what not, which, just reaffirming, you cannot delete.

So my concern is if I already have a partial brick, this second partial brick to a Jap update sounds like it might make my wii's condition even worse; which might even lead to a complete brick. Has anyone with a previously partial brick tried updating this game? And if so did you face a complete brick? Thanks.
Since no one answered or even attempted to answer my concerns, I went ahead and updated my already partially bricked Wii with the brawl update.

If you had a US wii partial bricked by a PAL Super Mario Galaxy and you update with brawl, you end up with triple channels. One set of channels from Pal and one set of channels from Jap, in addition to your originals. You won't face any problems apart from that, the game works fine.

How long does it take. I did that but it seems like its just freezing... Do I have to wait a few minutes?

Also when you put in the Config1.2 or 1.3 in first does it give a disc read error as well?

Thanks

If you're having problems with slow torrent speeds...

Those step-by-step instructions are guaranteed to help.

Took my download from 8 KB/s to 80 KB/s

LOL this is slight comical now...

I finally got the the config disc to work. I set the region Overide to on then I put save settings. And I put reset system.

Then I thought I was ready to play Brawl. So I put the first disc in (the one WITHOUT brickblocker) and then tried to play to get to the update screen.

When I get there like 3 percent into the update is stops and says update failed. My Wii is online. So I don't know whats wrong. I'm going to make another copy of the game right now.

But the thing is my DVD-R's arent good quality. And they are DVD-R and not DVD+R so I dont know if that makes a difference or not. If the next copy I make doesnt update correctly Im going to go to the store and buy some better DVD disc. Any suggestions?

I've got a PAL wii + Wiikey, and smash bros. is working fine, but when I try to play online, I just end up fighting the sandbag for about ten minutes, then it gives an error and goes back to the character select screen.

I can watch people play, so my wi-fi is fine...
I'd really like some advice if someone can help, I want to play on line

We all have the same problem. I guess the one layer is missing something. Now we know the game can be fully and well dump. So i'm still on the look for the dual layer version. Maybe wifi will work then
I already got my DVD9 ready ^ ^

Okay! Thanks In advance for ANY help on this matter :)<3.

My system Specs:

Japanese Wii.
Wiikey.
Not Updated with SMG.
Burned DVD5 of Smash Brothers Brawl.

Right now, I have not inserted the disc because I am scared :(. Anyways, I was wondering, if I can just insert it, and update it without it bricking?

No dupe channels, put in blocked copy runs perfect, opening screens are a little weird to navigate but other than that shit is all good. Did you region free the disc, or only brick block it?

Ive seen this posted a couple of times now, but has anyone with the rapidshare version been able to get WIFI to work? I can spectate games, but when i want to join one, I get into the sandbag room for like 5-10min then i either exit myself or get a message that kicks me. Could be that the connection from Japan is far away, but Mario Kart DS goes to Japan, so i would expect the wii to do so easily.

Any info would greatly help!

i just played an online match successfully. only one other person connected so it was him, me and two cpus. the lag was excruciatingly terrible. i estimate that the 3 minute match took about 5 to 8 minutes. lol hopefully this will not be a problem once i get my us version. i think it was just because he is most likely in japan and i am connecting to him on a severely bogged down wireless router. (i'm dling torrent of ssbx soundtrack) anyways! super excited that it worked!!

oh, to the guy whos wii did the update fail thing. mine did that, leaving me just two of the PAL channels and one of the JAP channels. I was freaked but then i burned a wiiblocked version and that one worked so then i decided to just reburn the one where the update failed. i burned it REALLY slow, with no other processes running and that one worked. it updated correctly. i have all three regional news and weather but who really cares? that is the only problem and i think they are funny. i have them lined up in colums even though i cant use them. anyways best of luck! hopefully you have already solved your problem. but yes! confirmation of a successful wifi match! terrible lag though. ugh.

David.
