If you know DMC isnt a wii game why are you asking about it here? This section is for wii discussion and this thread is specifically for discussion ONLY about SSBB. If you want information about DMC4 then go to the xbox360 or ps3 section.
And besides, asking for links to DL any games is strictly against afterdawn's rules.

You have a japanese wii and the copy of brawl is from a japanese disk. You can safely update with no fear of bricking whatsoever becasue they are from the same region.
However, the copy won't work unless you do the 1.9g update on the wiikey. SSBB has the same protection as SMG, so you need the 1.9g update to be able to play it with the wiikey. Update the wiikey to 1.9g and then you should be able to run the game.

Hey, I was wondering if the duplicate channels created by the ntsc-j game are permanent or if they can be removed, possibly by a new firmware release? Thanks

At the moment they are still permanent, because there isn't a way (yet) to remove these apps from the flash memory of the wii..

I guess this is a dumb question but when I boot up Brawl I have no idea which options save my game.
One menu come up with 2 options so I choose the left one. Then another menu comes up and I choose left on again. Note that on the 2nd menu I can make out the word Wii on the right-side option.
Can someone please help me save my game. I just lost my first 4 unlocked characters :(

hi - the first image is saying whether you want to create a save game file - one of left is yes, and one on right is no.
the second image is telling you that IF you continue, Wifi will not work, but you can save. The options are that you can continue, or go back to wii menu to change options.

Just to update on my Semi-Bricked Japanese wii. This is the load screen:
And this is the error message after it loads:
Apparently it's a 12s629 (?) with WiiFree which is hopefully what is causing the error. I'm getting it updated tomorrow, i'll post the results.

I've already gotten past this, but what exactly does the second dialog really mean? Why is it that WiFi wouldn't work, and what options would need to be changed?

i want to upload my wii ssbx save game with all the characters and stuff unlocked but i can't because when i tell my wii to copy it to my sd card it says that it cannot be copied, much like if anyone has ever tried to copy an animal crossing town to another memory card on gamecube. so that is lame. know any work arounds?? pm me if you do please!!

Error 001 is 'unauthorized device detected' Meaning the game knows the modchip is there. SSBB has the same copy protection as Mario Galaxy. So update your chip with whatever SMG patch the WiiFree has and it should work. I'm not too familar with the WiiFree so I cant say what firmware you need.

That's fine. I'm getting the guy who installed it to update it tomorrow. I think he might be putting in the replacement to WiiFree. I'm just glad I can sort it I can't wait to get battling. Thanks for your help :)

Caravan has released a full Dual Layer dump of SSBB. The game has been tested on CycloWiz using DVD+R DL. Filenames are cvn-dsbx.r**
There is rumor based out of Japan that Wiikey does, indeed, work fine with Dual Layer backups but not originals. This is unconfirmed.
