Not 3 rings, 1 ring of death, any answers?

Ok so instead of the 3 rings of death most people get, I got one ring, the 4th quadrant, or the bottom left corner, and it says system error, at the bottom E 74... i am assuming that is an error code yet when I called xbox they said a hardware failure and since it is only 1 ring and not 3 im not covered under the warrenty... any suggestions? thanks...

try the trouble shooter on xbox . com and if you cant get it working there's always someone around that can fix it if you search the net hard enough, im in ireland and i had problems with my 360 and got it repaired in a company in bray wicklow so if you want that web address pm me.

E74. Can be caused by a faulty AV cable so check that first. 90% chance it's a scaler chip problem (the "ANA" or "HANA" chip near the AV cable connection) In a small % of cases it is a problem with the GPU.

i have messed about with 3 xboxs e74 it seems to me to be more than 90% chance the gpu as i have done the xclamp trick on all 3 and it seems to fix it not for long though the longest i got was 3 hours
