Picked up two "fat" PS2's the other day and just wondering
what version they are AND if there good one's or not,both work
great,play anything you put in 'em..

i just got in to PS2 systems, i don't ever post here nor did
i read in this section about them till now, i did a search and didn't
find nothing, i have read some vers. had problems, just would like
to know..

seems like a "general" question to me..

Ok seems like i offended you,im sorry for that,but as your a senior member i thought you would have known were the PS2 forum is.

I was just trying to understand what you meant by asking if they were good ones or not.

I did a Google search on both models.To find out what version they are i would need the first letter and number in your serial,for SCPH-30001(U0,U1, U2,U3,U4,U5)also these are for American models.Also i would need to know how many screws it has on the bottom.

I thought you can tell what ver. they are by the numbers after
the "SCPH"?

anyway the S/N is- FU1647953, and 8 screw's if i'm looking at it
righ, is on the one..

the other one is S/N- FU5356363, and 8 screw's also..

This is what i found.

10 Screws at base of PS2 Version 1, 2 and 3
USA SCPH 30001 Version 1 = Serial Number begins with U1 Date Code 0D
USA SCPH 30001 Version 2 = Serial Number begins with U0 Date Code 0D
USA SCPH 30001 Version 3 = Serial Number begins with U1 Date Code 1A
USA SCPH 30001 Version 3 = Serial Number begins with U2 Date Code 0D


8 Screws at base of PS2 Version 4,5 and Electrical warning stamped on the bottom
USA SCPH 30001 Version 4 = Serial Number begins with U0
USA SCPH 30001 Version 4 = Serial Number begins with U1
USA SCPH 30001 Version 4 = Serial Number begins with U2
USA SCPH 30001 Version 4 = Serial Number begins with U3
USA SCPH 30001 Version 4 = Serial Number begins with U4
USA SCPH 30001 Version 4 = Serial Number begins with U5
USA SCPH 35001 Version 4 = GT3 Edition

There are 3 Motherboards for the SCPH 30001R, Version 4, 5 and 6 (5 and 6 are the same)
USA SCPH 30001R Version 5 or 6
USA SCPH 39001 Version 7


If your model # is SCPH-50000, 50001, 50002, 50003 or 50004 AND if you can find DATE CODE 3D,you have a V10

No it helped, with that info i can now look over my systems and
get a better idea, like i said new to PS2's(for the kids) and don't really know much about them, believe it or not...

they were always happy with PS1's
