hello i am putting this post on for my brother he said his xbox 360 has got the 3 rings of death he said it just randomly freezes up and then it just goes off and wen u turn it back on three of the rings flash red and the top right one light doesnt flash

More info is needed.
Has it been apart? Meaning, is the warranty sticker still intact?
If it is, call up microsoft and sen it off to them to have it fixed.
If not, then there are some fixes out there. I would suggest replacing the thermal paste under the CPU and GPU with artic silver 5 thermal paste.
If that don't work, there are other methods. Do a google search on the fixes.
There are xclamp replacement fixes, penny fixes, erasure fixes, heat gun, ect.
My stepsons 360 froze on him twice with the checkered board pattern screen. I replaced the thermal paste with AS5 and used one penny on each ram chip (it had the thermal pads already) and it has worked great now for over a week. Since then I have done the "fan shroud mod", as well as wired the stock fans to run at 12v. All these mods can either be found here, or a simple google search.
