hi ,

i have often battled this and i was hoping maybe some of the pro's could help me out . i try to keep eveything as clean as possible as i belive this makes a better burn , this being said . i have often bought a brand new pack of blank dvd+r and to open them to discover that they are covered in dust . why i wonder , but i try to get ths disc as clean as possible , i am always afraid that i am going to get dust inside my burner and scew it up making bad burns due to the dust . am i worring to much is this not a big deal , i have tried to blow the dust of the disc to were it looks clean and then burn it and take it out of the burner to see it still has a small piece of lint on it . does this hurt the burner , or should i just give up and forget about it . what do you guys do in this situiation . will the burner get dusty anyway , just trying to figure this out and any help appericated . thanks

a shot of air (canned air) inside the burner will do it or a dvd/cd cleaner several companys make them

I use antistatic brush, used for cleaning old records.

You are overreacting a bit my friend.. lol

Any dust that is present on the disc when it is inserted into your drive is usually spun completely off after a few revolutions (i.e. Your computer reading the disc).

Dust gets inside ever single crevice of your computer, you can't stop it, unless you somehow manage to get your computer to operate in vacuum lol..
There's no reason to believe dust is clogging your optical diodes unless you do start experiencing strange servo/tracking errors, and unexplainable playback issues that can't be attributed to anything else. Then maybe, it could that you need to clean your drive, but that's pretty rare I'd say.
