It looks cool.
Information i found.
Digital TV and PVR for PS3
The PlayTV features twin HD-ready TV tuners and so not only will it allow you to watch and record two different things at the same time, but it can also support 1080p high definition video.
Crucially, it's also got a video conversion tool, which means if you want to watch any content on your PSP, you can first convert it to a more friendly, lower resolution PSP format.
"Designed to reinforce PS3's rightful place in the Living Room," says Sony, "the twin channel TV tuner peripheral and PVR software turns PS3 into a state of the art TV recorder, allowing users to watch, pause and record live TV.
"PlayTV will also record individual programmes or whole series to the PS3 hard drive for viewing later on the family TV, or for transferring to the PSP for remote viewing outside of the home."
Just like most other digital TV recorders these days, the Sony PlayTV uses a seven-day Electronic Programme Guide to steer you through the process of setting the PS3 to record TV shows and movies. It's operated using either the wireless SIXAXIS PS3 controller or a separate Sony BD remote.
PlayTV will reportedly strut its Sky+ stuff in the UK, France, Italy, Germany and Spain early in 2008, with other PAL territories to follow.

It'll come to the US. You really think they wouldn't bring it here? lol
They're just trying it out over there first. Just like they're trying out the rumble in Japan first.
That really is sweet!

Yes Okthen12 the link i posted on the second post of this thread is old,so it may have gone up in price, but there is no way you should pay over £40 as its only an add on basicaly enabling you to add an aerial to your PS3,you can buy full PVRs with bigger harddrives for about £60-£80.

looks pretty freakin cool imho.
only thing i would say is upgrade of the hdd in the ps3 might be needed as you would soon fill up the drive with random stuff you never watch lol.
even if it is about 99 quid, buy that and and 240gb drive for about 70 and your paying about the same price as you would for a decent pvr. plus this way one less box kicking around under the tv and can stream to the ps3.... i'll get nothing done at work now lol

Actually the dualshock hasn't been approved by the fcc yet. Thats why it's not in the US. I do remember reading that play tv will not be coming to the US. If I can find the link I will post it.

Canuckerz You do realise that it will be very exspensive for you to get,if it is £40 thats about $80 then there is the p & p,which wont be cheap either.

P&P is postage and packaging which could be quite exspensive. For a price on Playtv well have to wait, there is not a confirmed price,i found a site that said it was £40 but others have said it could be as much as £99.
But it does look pretty good did you check out the video.
On a side note when you are creating a theme you have to put an icon for TV,which is hidden.
Also i do think America will get it.
