Upgrade from 2.81?

Hi, i have a psp that has 2.81 fw and I would like to know if ti is possible to update it to 3.80 m33, if so, how?
Also, I have a bit of a problem when trying to use the web browser on this particular psp, I get an error message "An internal error has occured (80410A0B)" could anyone give me any advise to why this may be?

As are good informers like you :) j/k, of course you are right, but i have just got that mental block from having trying to resolve it for the past 5 hrs or so and got nowhere, but hen as you say that's why there is stickies.

you either need to go to 3.03 and use the GTA downgrader (you need the unpatched GTA LCS UMD) OR go to 3.50 and use the Lumines UMD (unpatched) downgrader OR just get a Pandora Battery and do it right from the fw you are on now

Cheers bu22ard, is there a chance of me bricking the psp? If so, can I easily recover from this? I guess no one has got an answer regarding the internal error as there is no fix for it. Took the boring task of going through previous posts regarding this and also googled it and it appears that the answer lies in the fact that the psp wifi is knackered, this could have been due to an earlier fw update or it may have been dropped. Anyhoo, i am gonna give sony a call and see if they will replace it for me, as i read that they tend to do that. Please feel free to add anything that you may feel useful.

you need that to downgrade dont call soney they wont help you. hat error just means you cant play homebrew or activate homebrew so just hardmod ur battery using that guide then make the magic memory stick

Aaron516, desperate times call for desperate measures, so i decided to give your guide a try. Opened my battery with the upmost care, only to find that it aint even got a microchip on there :( i can send you a pic for you to have a look at?

no, cant see that anywhere, it does have some writing under the black sponge that is glued to it and i think i can make out 3518B, not 100% on the B. There is some more printed on there, but cant see it due to the sponge. Ahh, i think it is on the underside of the circuit board, but not sure which one it is. gonna get a pic of the underside and post, 2 secs...

ok thanks the last pic u put up was perfect!
Now im 99% sure that the glue is covering the chip u need to take out so take as much of the glue off and then post the pic of what it looks like and zoom in once for me =]

ok, i appreciate your effort to help :) (I do have another battery here, but it looks very similar to the one i have just opened, what i mean is, it has the same model number. At the botton of the battery below the barcode the one i opened reads: 5X09BZA and the other one reads: 5X09BZB).
I guess it is still an option to downgrade and then upgrade?
