Hey guys, I can't seem to find an answer to this problem I have. Last night I had the wii set up at a party on this 6' by 8' screen with projector. I had it all set up and tested, but when we went to play the wii would not work. It would come on, but guitar hero 3 would not load (original). I just had it working 2 hours before! The wii didn't sound normal and sounded like the disk was trying to turn, but couldn't. then I couldn't get the game to come out and it was stuck! This morning I was ready to take the chip out and bring it back to walmart for an exchange, but when i turned the wii upside down the disk just came out! If I leave it upside down, all my backups and originals work, but when it turn it rightside up or vertical, the wii just makes some weird sounds and the games do not load or game doesn't eject until I turn it upsidedown.
Should I try to get this fixed? What could be the problem? Bad wiring from the mod?
I didn't drop it, but it was sitting next to an amp (or receiver?) for a couple hours as well as next to a power bar and some speakers. Not sure if that would affect the wii or not. Thanks to anyone that can help.
I don't think that it is electrical probably its just something in the drive that blocks the dvd when you don't place it upside down. So i gues you should just open up the wii and check if there are any screws loose or things like, things that can block the dvd-drive
Hey Anexis...thanks for the reply. You think it's a physical blockage? The disk doesn't load or eject when the Wii is vertical or upright. I'll bring it to my guy who installed the chip and he can take a look at it. I just don't want it to be temporarily fixed and have later problems so I want to get a new Wii before the return/exchange period is up from Walmart. Only problem is there's not Wii's to be had!
Same thing happened to mine,I messed up the tapelike wire connecting the dvd drive to the wii. I opened it up and used electrical tape to fix the little plastic door that broke and wasn't holding it down tight enough. Works fine now. Open it up and make sre that piece didn't brake, it is made very cheaply.
