Do you think Microsoft will work on a 360 with a broken seal even if the only thing you did was change the case out? Is this something that they would see and automatically send it back or would they repair it?

The problem is the hard drive connector going into the board, where the 360 randomly keeps restarting itself.

your probably out of warranty anyways unless you have bought the console recently so youd have to pay for it to be fixed regardless if the seal has been removed or if it was in perfect condition. you can however buy seals from ebay if you want. they usually run around 20-25 dollards.

yea, I got the 360 for Christmas from my woderful wifey.

I'd say it's probably just best to buy a $25 seal just to be on the safe side.

well id call up MS and see if it can be repaired under warranty first, bc if it cant, and you spend money on the seal, then you just wasted the money. also, you can get the coffin box sent out while the new seal is being mailed, so they arrive at the same time and you have less down time waiting for your new 360 to come back.

They said it was covered under warranty and they are sending me a box to send it to them in, and they would send it back with a 1 month subscription to live for my lost live time. The final statement he made was something along the lines of anything done to void the warranty, the unit would be shipped back unfixed. I just said ok, and never mentioned or asked about the case being a custom. Of course I didn't think of removing the sticker when I put the case on also.
