ok ive ive just had a phone call from a freind tryin to sell me his 360.

the problem is he has tryed flashing it and it went wrong not sure what he done wrong,

the xbox will boot to the dash and play cd's and dvd films but wont read any games, is there anyway i can fix this, he DOES NOT have the original firmware, so is there anythin that can be done.

Well if it is booting to dashboard it is a good sign since flashing without the original key most likely gie you an error at startup. Only possibility is extract key from hacked firmware and reflash all over again. But that is an odd one. For me it was either bricked to due a floppy or power failure (Now have UPS and use USB flash). Or complete success nothing in between.

NO It's screwed unless you get a chip in extract the key from the Board.Not a easy Task.If it doesnt play games at all orig or burnt key is lost unless you get that chip.You cant extract the key cause more than likey he flashed it without double checking his firmware,Instead of numbers like 12345 6789 his reads fffff ffff.
It will boot up fine with a bad ket no error.Been there done that Hitachi drive also.I always triple check my bins now.lol
