Ive Currently Purchased a Slim PSP which has 3.71 firmware on. I have been reading various posts regarding downgrading etc but have a couple of questions that id like to ask...

A)I understand that its only possible to downgrade using a Pandoras Battery, but want to know what the success rate is like doing so as the last thing I want is to Brick my new system.

B)Only want custom firmware to run my old PS1 games on the psp such as the Final Fantasy Series and a few other titles so what would be the best CFW? (actually own the disks)

C)As its a new system and if unfortunatly bricking the system, would there be any way the Store I purchased it from find out that I had downgraded if I was to return it via the instore warrenty? or can it be recovered using the various unbricking methods that are available?

If anyone could also link a sure fire, step by step guide that would help this CFW virgin downgrade it would be appreciated.

Thank you in advance for any replies that help with the above questions.

A) 100% success rate, brickin usualli happens wen ppl mess with the flash file or in some (very rare) cases the game crashes and a brick happens, but 99% of the time it can b unbricked with pandora

B) i recommend 3.71 m33-4 most stable for ps1 games, ive finished all my ps1 games before i went onto 3.81 m33-5 as most users complain abt not being able to run ps1 on the 3.81 m33-5

C) most bricks can b fixed if u have pandora and if u back up some important files there shouldnt b ani permanent brick 99% guaranteed.

if u stick with the pft themes u wont see ani brick for ur life with the psp (4 friends with psp all listened to wat i said) onli way for a permanent brick is highli unlikely (unless u delete the nand and all the flash files, have to b an complete idiot to do that)

my (+[__]%) life

2.81 -> 3.71-> 3.71 m33-2 -> 3.71 m33-3 -> 3.71 m33-4 -> 3.80 m33 -> 3.80 m33-2 -> 3.80 m33-4

saddest (+[__]%) moment

i upgraded to 3.71

Couldnt find the edit button but instead of an actual Pandora Battery is it worth getting a PSP Battery Service Tool...will it achieve the same results?

This is the Item im considering http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/PSP-Pandora-Slim-o...7QQcmdZViewItem

adn with using the battery option to downgrade is it just a case of downgrading to 1.50 then put CFW upgrades from there or just use the direct CFW thats been previously advised?

hmm first time seein that, mite b quite useful if u have one battery, aniwaz u dont need to downgrade to 1.5 just use Universal Unbricker V3 (aka DC 3) which installs 3.71 m33-2 onto ur psp straight away makes noobs life alot easier

If I was to purchase the above mentioned Item how difficult is it creating a firmware memory stick without another CFW PSP? or am I better off looking for the Battery/memory stick combos?

Sorry to re-open this thread but heres some more questions...

I currently own FF7 but on PC so realise that cant be used on the psp, I have FF8 and 9 on ps1 so those wont be a problem to transfer over, now my question is where would be the best place to get the Eboot (tried google and found so many different versions) Im after the international/europe edition and is there a way of direct download instead of torrents?
