Starview PVR Updated Firmware but No Channels

Thats what it says in my post.
((If channels not clearing goto Menu / System Setup / Press ok when the Parental Control line in yellow is highlighted then press i then 2007, this should take you the the CAS SYSTEM.
I presume you are getting all the other channels? (you don't say) if so just do a factory reset and a fresh rescan. Save your original channel list first to H/D in the menu system as a backup.

I downgraded the f/w that came with the box to the 4.506 f/w, as per the previous post.
I have all the channels but the majority of them are not being descrambled.
what do you mean by the 'channels are not clearing'?

By 'Channels are not clearing' I mean not unscrambling, not clear, blank screen, no picture visible, can't watch.
If you can't clear (watch) unscramble channels your still not doing something right keep reading back.
Have you done as I asked????? by doing a rescan????? You are not answering all I ask to try and help you out.
You can't have some of the encrypted channels clearing, unscrambling and not others,its impossible, you either have all the scrambled ones unscrambling or non unscrambling, so which is it?????
Better still give a few names of channels which are and not descrambling.

i did the following:
1. a factory reset
2. set cable n/w
3. went to parental control and set the EMU on and load the NTHell codes
4. did an automatic channel scan
and.....all is now in order!

I am thinking of buying "the box pvr" as the new eurovox pvr won't let you record and watch different channels,will i need new firmware for the box as i did with eurovox,and where can i dowload it??

Yes, you will more than likely need to install new firmware, it can be D/L'd from this site using this link below, goto 'The Box PVR' Folder and the 'How too's' in the Documentation folder.

hi guys ive got a starview pvr and have been using it happily with no problems
got a call from my sis saying sky one is back so i thought
rescan
found nothing
factory reset enable auto on set provider
rescan
found nothing
GRRRRRRRR
any ideas ? shes going to kill me

Are you REALLY sure you are scanning for the correct provider in your area? The is a side button (right/left arrow) on the remote to go through them in the setup menu, ntl, telewest, c&w, etc, etc.

yup everything was correct tried it 3 time
checked the firmware which was the latest
just reflashed the firmware and the channels appeared first time
thats so wierd
all sorted before she got home though
and we have all the extra channels :) woohoo

Hey guys.
this has probably been asked before but i cant find the answer. I recently installed the new firmware for the box pvr but some of my channels have audio description on them and there is not another version of the channel to watch without it on. Does anybody know how to remove this

all i do is just hit the audio button and change it there are some channels that are purely for audio description so have a look you may have double channels

You must be doing something wrong then,(are you in the correct socket at the back? manual is wrong, cable input ,not aerial input.
If same look and read some of my other posts, many others have upgraded without probs, latest F/W BTW for the S/V twin tuner PVR dated 21/12/08 is in:

Hey guys,
I recently purchased a Starview PVR, Which is now fully flashed with version 4.506 firmware. I have done the i 2007 and turned on the autoupdate and also used the NTHell codes from the thread on top of page one. When I do a scan for the channels 0 are found. I have tried a auto scan and a full scan.
I get 15 channels from NteaL from a cable coming from my wall - i do not have any other set top box from enTeaHell. I plug this cable into the top right input on the PVR in the gang of 4. The scan does not even find these 15 channels. Do these boxes work with this type of cable?
I live in Wicklow town.
