New PSP motherboards prevent users from creating Pandora batteries

According to PSP-Italia, homebrew and custom firmware developer Dark AleX has discovered a new type of PSP Slim and Lite motherboard called the TA-85 v2 (pictured above) which prevents users from creating Pandora batteries.

According to the reports, this type of motherboard prevents the creation of Pandora batteries by inhibiting access to eeprom battery. While the unit cannot create new batteries, it can still run batteries which have already been placed in "service mode."

At the moment, there are no existing methods that PSP owners can use to get around this security measure. We'll be keeping a close eye on this issue so be sure to keep checking back here for more updates.

Just want to inforum u guys about this

you bet me too it by 9mins i posted here http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/621927

and it's shipped on new Slims with 3.73ofw from factory.

If you have that mobo, you _can't_ make a Pandora battery (EEPROM writing nids removed on syscon from this mobo), but you _can_ put a cfw on it ;P or use any other battery made from other psp system.
Solution? None, to tell the truth. At least by now. At least till some new writing EEPROM functions are discovered. Lol.

Wow, looks like I got my slim just in time then.

I would've thought Sony would've made something a little more complicated then this though. It's one thing that you can't make the battery, you can still buy it or borrow from a friend.

Btw shouldn't it be TA-090 or something xD

Anyways, thanks for the news mrgooey.
