Well guys,
I'm very happy to say that I have gotten the copy (real one from Japan), they hit store shelves about a day early and has just arrived with my really fast expresso shipping (cost me 72.89). I was pretty happy when I recieved it in the mail and quickly put it in my Wii, after about 30 seconds of waiting, I took the disc out. From there, I tried my own experience. I popped in the Configuration Disc, and turned my disc speed to 3X and still left region override on. I restarted the console and put in the old SMG update disc (1.9g) when it said "Put in Super Mario Galaxy." I put in SMG but then quickly swapped it with Brawl. I was supprised! I thought I was just fooling around to make it work, but it did! Too bad I won't be home for now. Work >.>

Do you know if the disc is Dual Layer or not?
PS: Please post some evidence to back up your claims.

Wait, so you put in Super Mario Galaxy, pressed A, heard Homer, then quickly swapped the discs? Or something else?

TC, if you could please post a video or something, showing this, it would clear some things up. If you get a chance, please make a video of it.

I think that is one of the big reasons people are pretty scared. If it is dual layer that presents a all new challenge to get it to work. Particularly for all us Smash Brothers deprived people that have to wait over a month for their glory.
It would be the first.

Okay, but who the hell threw out the rumor about the disc possibly being dual layered? I've never heard of such a thing. I hate when rumors come out since it causes mass panic among this community. It still is a possibility, but until I see a source I'm not concerned with this. Every game in the past has been on a standard DVD and I don't see why it should be on a dual layered.

Why? All you'd have to do is make a new program to rip it assuming Rawdump and the dump on the 1.3 config disc don't work, then burn it to a dual layer DVD. Shouldn't be too hard.

Does it work if you just put in Brawl without swapping from Galaxy. O_o

That?s kind of what I was figuring. I don?t expect that the dual layer feature would take more than a few days to solve, So I wasn?t that worried.
And why wouldn?t it be plausible? We already know officially from the Smash Brothers Website that the game is riddled with cinematics, all of which take up a good amount of space. Each cinema is also in 480p with high quality audio. That does take up space. With all the stuff on that disk I could imagine it going a little bit over a standard DVD. Dual Layers are cheap now so why not just up it to the next level?

Eh, very well. It's just going to be annoying waiting for someone to code some new software.

I actually hope it's Dual Layer. It will be a better game, sure we'll have to wait a couple of days but that's for a good, well developed game as opposed to one squished to fit in the size of a standard DVD.

My biggest thing is that I want the original to work with the Wiikey. I'm planning on purchasing this game. Though, if the Japanese one works I'll probably play that till it comes out in America.

I'm going to buy this too if I can track down an import and the legit wont brick my wii. I have fully paid for my US copy so I might just wait for a burn. I ultimately just want to get a head start. Nothing grand.
